Rules & Regulations

  • Format is always individual Stableford. Breakfast ball off 1st tee for all general games and majors.

  • For general games, we play 100% of handicaps. For majors, it's 75%. Players should keep official GHIN handicaps up to date - we have a Handicap Enforcement Officer (HEO). Sandbagging is not permitted.

  • Out of bounds is 1 shot penalty from point of entry. Bunkers are rake and place. Clean and place is based on rules at the course we play that day.

  • If there is a tie in Stablefords after a general game, winner determined by asking bartender for a number from 1-18 and whoever had most Stablefords on that hole wins. If still tied, ask for another number.

  • Groups should maintain a reasonable pace and keep up with the group ahead. Maximum 4 hours and 30 minutes for 18 holes.

  • Repair divots, fix ball marks, rake bunkers, and respect the course. We want to maintain good relationships with all venues.

Money Games

Play for fun or add some friendly competition

  • Common games include skins, closest to pin (close ups), low gross, and top Stablefords. One winner can't win both low gross and top Stableford. Stakes are always reasonable and friendly.

  • Money games are always optional. Players can choose to play for fun without participating in any wagering.

    Buy-ins must be made before the group tees off on the first hole. Players who do not complete their round are not refunded.

  • Normally $20 for both regular season rounds and major tournaments

  • All money games are settled immediately after the round. Cash or digital payment apps accepted. Players must be present to receive winnings. Any money due to an absent player is put back into the group fund.

Scoring & Technology

All scoring tracked - watch matches even if you're not playing

  • All scores are tracked using Golf Gamebook app. Players should download and familiarize themselves with the app.

  • Scores should be entered hole by hole for live tracking. This allows non-playing members to follow matches.

  • Playing partners are responsible for verifying each other's scores before submitting.

  • Stats are tracked for awards given out at the end of the season. Awards include player of the year, skin bandit and pin seeker, among others.

Major Tournaments

Includes the Beach Cup, Pine Cone and Mountain Man

  • Majors are generally 54-hole events with combined Stablefords of the 3 rounds. No cut, no divisions.

  • 75% of handicaps used

  • For a tie in a major, it is a sudden death playoff. Full hole, chipping or putting depending on venue, weather and lighting.

  • Just accommodation, food and golf costs. Paid directly to venues

    No Stableford or Low Gross winners per round. Only the over all stableford winner

    Must be active TGC member with current handicap

TGC Cup

Our season finale championship

  • 3 or 4 rounds over 6 weeks. Total stableford points of your best two rounds combined.

  • 75% of handicaps used

  • For a tie in a major, it is a sudden death playoff. Full hole, chipping or putting depending on venue, weather and lighting.

  • Must play minimum of 5 regular events to be eligible.

    No Stableford or Low Gross winners per round. Only the over all stableford winner.

    Skins and close-ups paid out after each round

    Overall winner paid at prize giving post final round

    Must be active TGC member with current handicap
